Amendment to Transitional Simplified Procedures (TSP)
The situation regarding BREXIT as you will know is extremely fluid. Since HMRC first announced the introduction of TSP (Transitional Simplified Import Processes – see our article from February 2019 here) on the 4th February 2019, the industry has lobbied HMRC to clarify the procedures.
One of the clarifications that was sought was whether customs agents (such as Express Sonice Delivery) would be able to submit customs declarations on the behalf of anyone who had registered and been accepted for TSP.
We have been successful in getting clarification on this point and the official text published by HMRC now reads:
Your agent cannot register for transitional simplified procedures on your behalf – you must do this yourself. Once you have registered, your agent will then be able to submit customs declarations on your behalf.

This is good news for our customers who wish to apply for TSP, as it would appear that Express Sonice Delivery can take on some of the administrative burdeon that a No-Deal Brexit would undoubtedly create.
We should stress that the situation is still very fluid, and these processes are subject to change. We will strive to keep our customers well informed and up to date.
